Adir Winery sits on one of the highest points in the upper Galilee, at nearly 900 meters above sea level, with views that stretch all the way to the Mediterranean on a clear day. The altitude is not just a selling point for the view. It shapes the wine. Cool nights, intense sunlight, and well-drained terra rossa soil produce grapes with concentration and complexity that lowland vineyards struggle to match.
The Wines
Adir focuses on premium reds, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, along with a notable Chardonnay. The wines are bold but balanced, reflecting the extreme conditions of the high Galilee. The flagship Plato label is the winery’s top expression, named after the philosopher and produced in limited quantities.
The Experience
The winery includes a tasting room with a terrace overlooking the Galilee hills. The owner is often present and happy to discuss the wines. A restaurant on site serves Galilee cuisine paired with the wines, making Adir a destination in itself.
