Ein Jezreel (Ma’ayan Yizre’el) is the spring that gave the Jezreel Valley its name. Located at the foot of Tel Jezreel, the spring has been a water source for communities in the valley for thousands of years. The spring is mentioned in the biblical accounts of the battles that took place in the valley, and its location near the ancient city made it essential to life at the tel.
Today, the spring area has been developed as a small park with walking paths and information panels. The spring still flows, feeding into the agricultural irrigation system of the surrounding fields, just as it has for millennia.
