Tabgha is a small area on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee that packs three of the most important Christian sites in Israel into a few hundred meters. The name comes from the Greek Heptapegon (Seven Springs), and the springs that feed the shore here have made this stretch of lakefront sacred and fertile for two thousand years.
The three sites at Tabgha are the Church of the Multiplication, the Church of the Primacy of Peter, and the Church of the Twelve Apostles. Together, they form the spiritual heart of the Gospel story around the Sea of Galilee.
Visit with Hoshen Tours
Tabgha is essential for any Christian pilgrimage to the Galilee. Hoshen Tours walks you through all three churches and connects them to Capernaum and Magdala nearby.
