Gan HaShlosha (Sachne): Natural Warm Springs

Gan HaShlosha, also known as Sachne, is one of those places where nature got everything right. Natural warm springs feed a series of pools surrounded by lawns, palm trees, and ancient stone walls, creating what feels like a tropical oasis at the foot of Mount Gilboa. The water is a constant 28 degrees Celsius year-round, crystal clear, and shallow enough for children to wade in. It has been voted one of the most beautiful places in Israel, and nobody who visits argues with the ranking.

The Pools

The main pools are fed by the Ein Amal spring, and the water flows through a series of cascades and basins before draining into irrigation channels. The pools are surrounded by well-maintained lawns, making it easy to spend an entire day swimming, picnicking, and doing absolutely nothing productive. On weekdays outside of school holidays, the park is quiet enough to feel private.

The Name

Gan HaShlosha means “Park of the Three,” named after three pioneers who were killed by a land mine near this spot in 1938. The memorial is a sobering counterpoint to the park’s beauty, a reminder that even the most peaceful places in Israel have stories attached.

The Museum

The park also contains a small archaeological museum with finds from the region, including artifacts from nearby Beit Alpha and Beit She’an.
