Kfar Kedem is a hands-on biblical experience village in the hills of the lower Galilee, near Kfar Kana. Unlike a museum where you look at things behind glass, Kfar Kedem puts you in the middle of the action: riding donkeys through olive groves, pressing olives in an ancient stone press, grinding wheat, baking pita on a tabun oven, and milking goats. It is loud, dusty, and genuinely fun.
The Experience
Visitors dress in period tunics (optional, but everyone does it) and spend two to three hours working through the activities of daily life in a first-century Galilean village. The donkey ride through the surrounding hills is a highlight, especially for families, and the fresh pita baked on the spot and served with olive oil, za’atar, and labneh is better than it has any right to be.
The activities are designed to connect visitors to the agricultural world of the Bible. When Jesus talked about sowing seeds, pressing grapes, or shepherding flocks, he was describing exactly the kind of life that Kfar Kedem recreates. For Christian pilgrims, the experience adds a physical, tactile dimension to the Gospel stories that no church visit can provide.
For Families and Groups
Kfar Kedem is particularly popular with families and large groups. Children love the donkeys, the animals, and the bread-making, and the site can accommodate groups of all sizes. Bar and Bat Mitzvah groups often include Kfar Kedem in their itinerary.
Visit with Hoshen Tours
Kfar Kedem is one of the most enjoyable stops in the lower Galilee. Hoshen Tours pairs it with Nazareth, Kfar Kana, and the Sea of Galilee for a day that brings the Bible to life.
