Your Perfect Week in Israel — Day by Day
Seven days is the sweet spot for experiencing Israel. Long enough to go beyond the postcards, short enough that every morning brings something extraordinary. This itinerary has been refined over years of guiding thousands of travelers — from first-time visitors to returning pilgrims — and it balances the iconic must-sees with the hidden places only a local guide would know.
Whether you’re a family, a couple, a group of friends, or a solo traveler seeking depth, this 7-day private itinerary covers Jerusalem, the Galilee, the Golan Heights, the Mediterranean coast, the Dead Sea, and Masada — with room to breathe.
Day 1 — Tel Aviv & Jaffa: Where Ancient Meets Modern
Your journey begins in Tel Aviv, a city barely a century old built next to Jaffa, one of the oldest ports in the world. Walk through Jaffa’s stone alleyways and artists’ quarter, browse the famous flea market, then cross into the Bauhaus “White City” along Rothschild Boulevard. Visit the Ayalon Institute, the underground bullet factory disguised as a kibbutz — one of Israel’s most astonishing stories. End the day at the Carmel Market, where the flavors of the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe collide.
Day 2 — The Mediterranean Coast: Caesarea, Haifa & Acre
Drive north along the coast to Caesarea, where Herod built a Roman city so ambitious it changed the ancient world. Continue to Haifa for sweeping views of the Baha’i Gardens cascading down Mount Carmel. Then enter the walled city of Acre (Akko) — a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Crusader halls lie beneath Ottoman streets. This is the day you realize Israel’s history isn’t one story but dozens, layered on top of each other.
Day 3 — The Galilee & Golan Heights
Head into the mystical city of Safed (Tzfat), birthplace of Kabbalah, where artists and mystics share cobblestone streets. Then climb to the Golan Heights — Mount Bental for panoramic views into Syria, a thrilling off-road Jeep tour along the border, and the beautifully restored 5th-century synagogue at Umm el-Kanatir. Tonight, sleep in the Galilee hills.
Day 4 — Sea of Galilee & the Jordan Valley
Circle the Sea of Galilee — the freshwater lake where Jesus walked on water, where Peter cast his nets, and where ancient fishing villages still dot the shore. Visit Korazim, the cursed city with its black basalt synagogue. Continue south through the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean, the best-preserved Roman city in Israel, and cool off at Gan Hashlosha’s natural warm springs. Arrive in Jerusalem as the sun sets over the hills — the moment every traveler remembers.
Day 5 — Jerusalem: The Old City
This is the day you’ve been waiting for. Begin at the Mount of Olives with a panoramic view that takes your breath away. Descend through ancient tombs to the Garden of Gethsemane, then enter the Old City. Walk the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Stand at the Western Wall, then descend into the Western Wall Tunnels — 2,000-year-old passages beneath the streets. End on Mount Zion at the Upper Room and King David’s Tomb.
Day 6 — Jerusalem: Museums, Markets & Memory
Experience the other side of Jerusalem. Begin at Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust memorial — one of the most powerful museums in the world. Continue to the Israel Museum to see the Dead Sea Scrolls and a stunning model of Jerusalem as it looked 2,000 years ago. End the day at Machane Yehuda Market, where Jerusalem’s soul comes alive — spices, fresh-baked bread, local wine, and the sound of a city that never stops being itself.
Day 7 — Masada, Ein Gedi & the Dead Sea
Your final touring day is unforgettable. Drive through the Judean Desert to Ein Gedi, a desert oasis with waterfalls and ibex. Then ascend Masada — King Herod’s fortress on a cliff above the Dead Sea, where Jewish rebels made their last stand against Rome. Descend to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, and float in its mineral-rich waters. It’s the perfect ending — weightless, warm, and surrounded by the desert landscape that shaped three faiths.
Why 7 Days?
Shorter trips rush through the highlights. Longer trips add wonderful depth but aren’t always possible. Seven days lets you experience Israel at a pace that’s both immersive and comfortable — with time to linger at a viewpoint, wander through a market, or sit down for a real conversation with the people who live here.
Every itinerary is customizable. Want to add a day in the Negev desert? Extend to Petra in Jordan? Focus more on Christian holy sites or Jewish heritage? This is a private tour — it’s built around you.
